What if I just need help in one or two areas? Can I get it from you?

Yes, I can help you with all the phases or with any part of one. If you're not sure about exactly what help you might need, use the Career Score Card to analyze your strengths and weakness.

How do you actually work with your clients?

I work with my clients in face-to-face meetings, on the telephone and by email and fax. The way that we work together is defined by the goals we want to accomplish and by how easy it is for you to get to my office. For example, if we are working on a resume, we might work entirely by telephone and email because it is more efficient.

Many of my services can be effectively provided without the need for personal meetings, so my help is available even if you don't reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

How do you charge for your services?

All my fees are based on a rate of $110/hour. I have a two hour minimum charge for new clients. After that, I charge for my time in quarter hour increments, which means you don't have to pay for a whole hour each time you need some help. For example, you may want some last-minute coaching on the telephone just before an important interview. If we talk for 25 minutes, you would be charged $55.

How much money should I expect to spend on my career or job search?

Budgeting is difficult because there is no way to know in advance when you will finish your transition. One of the reasons I require new clients to have an initial session of two hours is to help us both decide how much help you will need and what you can afford. So - the minimum you should expect to spend to get my help is $225.

Getting help for your career development challenges is actually an investment in expert advice that will save you time and money in the long run. For example, suppose you write your own resume and it has a fatal mistake in it that causes potential employers to ignore you? What is the cost of learning the hard way what works and what doesn't?

What do I do to get started?

Simply call me at (650) 329-9412 . If I'm available when you call, we'll spend about 30 minutes talking about your career issues or schedule a later time that is more convenient. This first 30 minutes is free and will give us both the chance to find out if I really can help.

If you find that the 30 minute session has been useful and want to continue to the next step, we can schedule an initial two hour session to take place either in my office or over the telephone.
